We offers 4-week, 5-week, 12-week, and term-long Chinese language and culture training courses all year round, and 4-week, 5-week, 6-week, and 8-week courses during the summer vacation period. All courses are provided with two options, i.e. 20 hours/week training course and 30 hours/week intensive course.
All courses are conducted in sixteen different levels of six ranks, i.e. A, B, C, D. E. and F, ranging from the beginner’s to advanced. Students are placed in appropriate classes after a placement test upon registration.
The applicant should be a senior high school graduate between the age of 18-60 years old
There are more than 8,000 international students studying in BLCU every year, while there are only 2,000 beds in the campus dormitories. Places are limited and students are advised to book early to ensure a place (at least 3 months in advance). For those who book early we can guarantee a dormitory.
Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is the only international university in China with its main task set at teaching the Chinese language and culture to foreign students. Other research centers include International Cultures Research Center, the Center for Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), Language Research Institution, Institute for Comparative Literature Research, and Institute for Applied Linguistics Research,etc. which are academically highly influential both internationally and domestically. BLCU sponsors and directs three national Chinese core periodicals which are well known in the academic circle, namely YUYAN JIAOXUE YU YANJIU, SHIJIE HANYU JIAOXUE, and ZHONGGUO WENHUA YANJIU. BLCU is the biggest, the most experienced and the best resourced Chinese university in the education of Chinese language and in the international promotion of Chinese culture. Now BLCU has a unique, well-structured, and advantageous disciplines system, covering short-term Chinese language study, intensive Chinese training, on-line education, undergraduate education and graduate education, etc. and its education quality enjoys high reputation domestically and internationally.
